Over 3,085 engineering students of 2017 and 2018 batches were awarded degrees at the 13th Annual Convocation of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. 47 students who bagged university merit positions were also honoured with medals during the event. Stars of the ceremony included Ankit Arora, B.Tech, CSE, student who got placed with Amazon India, at a package of Rs 31.7 LPA in addition to University toppers like Vishal Singh, B.Tech, CSE, (86.6% marks) placed with Amazon Web Services at a package of 18 LPA, Jashandeep Kaur, B.Tech ECE, (88% marks) placed with Cypress Semiconductor at a package of 10 LPA, Arsh Setia, B.Tech, ME, (84.7% marks) placed with Cognizant Technology Solutions at a package of 8.6 LPA, Ujjwal, B.Tech CSE, (89.2% marks) placed with Hewlett Packard Enterprise.Most of the students who received their degrees have been placed with top notch MNCs with many having bagged multiple offers from around 492 MNCs including Fortune 500 companies and MNCs like Amazon, Microsoft, HP, Deloitte, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Hyundai etc. that visited CGC Landran for campus placements.

CGC students from this batch have not only shown brilliant results in academics but have also proved their skills and talent in many innovative projects and competitions held at the national and international level by winning awards and recognitions. Some of these include CANSAT 2018-USA, AICTE-ECI Chhatra Vishwakarma Award among others. They have also showcased their all-rounder spirit by winning top spots in various sports and cultural activities organised at University, state and national levels. Chief Guest of the ceremony, Alok Srivastava, Managing Director-IoT, Southeast Asia and India, CISCO presented the degrees to the students of 2017-2018 batches. Delivering the convocation address, Mr Srivastava urged the Passouts to have self confidence in order to become effective and successful leaders. Citing examples of globally successful and renowned companies including those at home in India; he underlined the important role that innovation and creativity play in building and sustaining lasting businesses and products. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran congratulated the students and wished them the very best for their careers.
