The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today laid the foundation stone of Baba Banda singh Bahadur Public School at Nowshera to be constructed by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Educational Trust, Jammu and Kashmir.Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister highlighted the importance of education and said that its purpose is not only to make career but also to develop moral values. He said, “The function of education is to enable people to think intensively and critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education."He said in schools we learn skills to develop personality, imbibe moral values.The Chief Minister announced Rs. 31 lakh and one day salary for the construction of school building.On this maiden visit to the border district, Mr. Manohar Lal was received by MLA Nowshera Mr. Ravinder Raina and Chairman Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Educational Trust, Mr. Charnanjeet Singh Khalsa. Chairman of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Educational Charitable Trust said that people of area particularly children have been facing difficulties in getting quality Education on CBSE standards. Hence, trust and people of area decided to establish a CBSE pattern school where modern and moral education should be imparted.Construction work for school building would be started soon and same shall be completed in a stipulated time, he added.Speaking on the occasion MLA Ravinder Raina stressed the need for quality education as it is the guiding force for a society. He also highlighted the role of Banda Singh Bahadur as a social reformer.
