Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur participated in the cleanliness drive at Himachal Bhawan, New Delhi today as part of the 'swacchta hi sewa' movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi ji's dream of Clean India.The Chief Minister along-with Member of Parliament Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLAs Rakesh Jamwal, Inder Singh Gandhi, Vinod Kumar and Prakash Rana, State BJP leaders and representatives of New Delhi Municipal Corporation cleaned the premises of Himachal Bhawan and nearby pavements outside the Bhawan.Speaking to the people who gathered on the occasion and staff of the Bhawan, the Chief Minister underlined the importance of cleanliness and directed to keep the premises and surroundings clean.He said that a campaign was being launched for 15 days in the state till 2nd October also and various programmes and cleanliness drives would be organised at various places to fulfill the objectives of Swachhta Abhiyan. He called upon the citizens of all age groups to join the movement and ensure participation to achieve Swachh Bharat mission. He said that young generation could play a significant role in this movement and everyone should be made aware about it.
