CGC Landran signs MoU with ICHM Australia

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International College of Hotel Management (ICHM), Adelaide, Australia, which will enable students from CGC to pursue Masters Degree courses in Hospitality, Hotel Management from ICHM. They would also be eligible for Scholarships as a part of this understanding. The agreement would broaden the spectrum of placements which, students would be able to avail, once they complete their degrees. Additionally, both the institutions are also in talks for instituting a Credit Transfer Programme, going forward.CGC Landran has signed MoUs with more than 30 international universities and colleges which include AACSB accredited B-schools. ICHM is one of the top hotel management schools in Australia and among the top five in the world. 

Mr Gerald Lipman, Chief Executive, ICHM, Australia said that ICHM was excited about its partnership with CGC Landran. Emphasising how growth in global travel was fuelling growth of the hospitality sector, he termed the MoU as a progressive initiative by CGC which would pave way for students to explore the best opportunities in hospitality studies, globally.This year alone 20-plus students from the hospitality management department of CGC Landran have been selected for paid internships by renowned hotel chains and resorts in the United Kingdom, France, Malaysia, Bahrain, Oman, Maldives, Thailand, to name a few.Mr Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Mr Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran said, “India has been ranked an impressive sixth in tourism and hospitality, by the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum. This underlines the wide scope of the hospitality industry in the country and its emergence as a good employment generator. This tie-up with ICHM will give CGC students the chance to gain meaningful international exposure which is imperative to becoming a well-rounded professional while also providing them a solid platform to tap better placement opportunities both home and abroad.”
