Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a civilian were wounded in a grenade blast in Sangrama area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal told GNS that the militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF party at Sangrama chowk today morning.In the blast, three CRPF men and a civilian suffered splinter injuries, he said.He identified the deceased CRPF men as Constable Radey Shyam, Constable Shakeel and Constable Daram Das Tiwari and civilian as Hilal Ahmed Khandey son of Abdul Qayoom Khandey of Sopore.
Iqbal said that a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.Meanwhile, Lashkar-e-Taiba claimed responsibility of the grenade attack.The spokesperson of the LeT, Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi said that the cadres of the outfit carried out the grenade attack at Sangrahama in which five CRPF troopers suffered injuries.He said that the CRPF troops opened fire in retaliation resulting in injuries to a civilian.
