Two militants were killed while a civilian was injured during an encounter at Parr Mohalla Hajin here North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.A police official said that during the searches, militants fired upon the search party, which was retaliated leading to an encounter. In the ensuing encounter two militants were killed.“Huge quantity of arms and ammunition including rifles, magazines, pouches and incriminating material was recovered from the site of encounter,” the official said.He said from the incriminating material seized from the site of encounter, it is learnt that both the killed militants were foreigners from Pakistan and identified as Rizwan alias Jindaal and Ali alias Maaz. Both were affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT and were involved in several attacks on security establishments and civilians.Police has registered a case in this regard and the investigation has been initiated in the instant matter.During the gunfight a civilian identified as Muhammad Akbar Bhat of Khosa Mohalla was injured. Bhat received a bullet in his shoulder and was shifted to Bones and Joint Hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated to be stable.During the gunfight, clashes erupted between local youth and forces personnel. Reports said that several protesters were injured in these clashes. (CNS)
