Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus today celebrated National Sports Day to commemorate the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand-a phenomenal athlete. Major Dhyan Chand, the hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928,1932 and 1936 and served his country to reach its pinnacles of glory multiple times. Known for his sublime goal-scoring laurels and extraordinary ball control, Dhyan Chand is regarded as the greatest field hockey player of all time and was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1956. Matches of Kabbadi Competition (National Style) & Tug of War competiton were organized to mark the occasion.

Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus congratulated the sports person and sports enthusiasts who pursue sports with great passion. He said that students should be inspired from the glorious history of Maj. Dhyan Chand ji who have scored 400 goals in his international career. Youth of India should come out of their comfort zones and play on the ground to bring glory to the Nation. Students should connect more with sports rather than electronic gadgets so that they can also shine on the Globe , asserted Dr. Seth Management Institute of the campus won the match of Kabbadi by 42-40 by defeating  Polytechnic College and Tug of War competition was won by Polytechnic College students against the Engineering College Team. Dr. Suresh Seth congratulated the winners and their mentors
