District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary Bandipora today convened a day long mega public interaction programme (public Darbar) cum review meeting at Tehsil headquarter Hajin in Bandipora.The objective of holding such event at Hajin was to review the development activities of the area, besides resolving other issues on spot after getting feedback from public as well as Officers.SSP Bandipora Shiekh Zulfkar Azad, Commanding Officer RR, JD Planing Abdul Majeed, district and Sectoral Officers, Executive Engineers, employees of local administration and a large number of people attended the function.Over a dozen public deputations representing Hajin Town, Baharabad, Sadunara, Kosumbagh, Vijpara, Gund, Saderkote, Banyari, Chandangeer, Shahgund, Batagung, Muqdamyari, Gulshanpora Markundal, and Football Association Zone Hajin put forth their demands relating to macadamization of roads, augmentation of water and Power supply, drainage system, development of link roads, supply of electric poles and conductor, fencing of school buildings and development of play field before the DDC.
The DDC gave on spot directions to the concerned Officers for timely resolution of the issues highlighted at the Darbar.Later, in his address, the DDC said that a special development plan has been formulated for Hajin which covers all basic amenities of the area. He, however, asked people to cooperate field functionaries of administration to achieve the targets, adding that peace is imperative for development.Enumerating development activities coming up in Hajin area, the DDC said that Rs 11 crore drainage network, Rs 10.98 crore four water supply schemes, Rs 18 crore CHC Hajin, Rs 2.74 ITI Hajin, Rs 1.45 crore PHC Madwan, besides, upgradation of tiled paths, lanes, drains, street lights and other works are at the different stages of completion.The DDC also made many announcements on the occasion. The DDC said that the motive of visiting Hajin is to accelerate and speed up the developmental activities in the Hajin Tehsil. He assured them that he will spend one day in every month in the area.Earlier, the DDC was given a warm welcome and expressed satisfaction on the visit of DDC.
