District Development Commissioner, Rajouri , Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of various developmental projects at various sites in Rajouri town.The DDC was accompanied by ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, CPO A H Choudhary, ExEn PHE Nisar Khan, ExEN PWD Mushtaq Ahmed Raina, DPO Abdul Khabir, Tehsildar Rajouri Mehmood Riaz, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, CEO Rajouri, Principal DIET and other concerned officers.The DDC initiated his tour with the inspection of the ongoing construction work of approach road from Alternate Abdullah Bridge to District Hospital Chowk being executed under STF costing Rs 22 crores (including the cost of Bridge).He directed the ExEn PWD(R&B) Division Rajouri to expedite the pace of work as per the actual alignment for providing much needed relief from the Traffic congestion.He also issued on spot directions to ACR Rajouri to provide the compensation in respect of 18 structures/houses coming in the way as per the assessment made. ExEn PWD(R&B) was directed to issue final notice, regarding demolition, to the owners of houses so that construction of road could be completed within stipulated time frame.The DDC also took stock of the construction work of Badala Mang Bridge being constructed by JKPCC, costing Rs 16 crores, where approach roads from the left side stands completed and Army, Revenue and JKPCC authorities have been called for joint meeting, in the office chamber of DDC, to resolve the issue of land from right side of Bridge.
Further, Eklavya Model Residential School (400 Bedded) being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crores was also inspected and executing Agency was directed for fast tracking of the execution of work, for its timely completion, to provide the residential facility to the students.Work at Bhella Park with children play area, being developed as major recreation hub in the middle of town over an area of around 35 kanals, at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakh under convergence mode, was also inspected and deadline for completion of the same has been fixed as January, 2019.For decongestion of Traffic, land for development of parking slots for 500 vehicles was also finalized near District Hospital Chowk and ExEn PWD was directed to prepare the DPR for development of parking slots at the designated place.The DDC also inspected the ongoing work on Shopping Complex with a total number of 56 shops at new Bus Stand Rajouri, out of which 26 Shops stands completed and directions to the executing agency have been issued for completion of rest of shops within 3 months.
While inspecting the old Rajouri bus stand, directions were issued for immediate construction of New Sanitary Complex (Public Convenience) at the same site. The DDC also asked the EO Municipality to complete the formalities for demolition of Old Guest House situated at old bus stand and was further asked to take up the construction work of new multi-storey guest house at the same location to provide the facilities to the Tourists visiting the district.The DDC directed the officers of Revenue, Rajouri Development Authority and Municipality to prepare the proposal for beautification of Panja Chowk and construction of Sanitary Complex near Police Line, Rajouri. Executing agencies were entrusted upon to maintain quality while ensuring timely completion of the projects.Later, the DDC inspected the site for Filtration plant costing Rs 7.44 crores under LIC. ExEn PHE informed the DDC that with the construction of Ffiltration plant , around 15 lakh gallons of water shall be added to the existing 7 Lakh gallons of water discharge, which shall meet out water requirement of Rajouri Town and water crisis will be reduced with its completion. He further informed that allotment for intake structure, protection work, sump tank and pump room costing Rs 3.45 crores shall be made within couple of weeks.
