Debt Relief Certificates worth Rs.1.29 crore handed over to 296 SC & BC loanees of Sardulgarh constituency

With the constructive vision of the Chief Minister, 861 SC/BC beneficiaries of district Mansa got relief of Rs.3.44 crore : Bikramjit Singh Mofar

Continuing the series to give relief to the loanees of loan up to Rs.50,000 belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes by the Punjab government, the District Congress President Mr. Bikramjit Singh Mofar today handed over Debt Relief certificates worth Rs.1.29 crore to 296 loanees of Sardulgarh constituency at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan, here.Addressing the gathering during the Debt Relief Certificates distribution ceremony, he said that with the constructive vision of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, loans of about Rs.3.44 crore of 861 beneficiaries having loan up to Rs.50,000 and related to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of district Mansa, have been waived off. He reiterated that the Punjab government is committed to fulfill the promises made to the people and every effort would be made for the welfare of the people.Mofar categorically said that the Punjab government has waived off loans up to Rs.50,000 of 14260 loanees of Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation, which amounts to Rs.45.41 crore and 1630 loanees of Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation amounting to Rs.6.59 crore."

To provide financial assistance to youth belonging to Scheduled Castes category for augmenting their income so as to make them self dependent, the state government during this current financial year has targeted to provide loans to 6400 youth belonging to Scheduled Castes under various welfare schemes to start their ventures and a provision of Rs.24 crore has been made for this purpose", he said. Exhorting the youth of SC category to derive benefit from the welfare schemes for commencing their own ventures, Mr. Mofar said that the direct loan scheme, bank tie up scheme and some jointly run by the Union and State Government.He said that the state government's scheme of debt relief to the farmers of every section is running in a big way, which was started from district Mansa, and so far government has waived off debt of more than 3 lakh farmers in the state.Prominent amongst those, who were present, include Mr. Kamalpreet Singh, District Manager, Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation, Mr. Baljinder Singh, Assistant District Manager, Mr. Amarinder Singh, District Field Officer, Punjab Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation, Mr. Jagseer Singh, District Welfare Officer, Mr. Polojeet Bajjewala, District Senior Vice President, Mr. Jagseer Singh Mirpur, Youth Congress President, Bathinda MP constituency, Mr. Suresh Nandgharia, Urban President Mansa, Congress leaders Mr. Jagtar Singh Bhuleria and Mr. Sandeep Mofar and Sarpanch Mr. Gurdeep Singh.
