Gearing up the pace of inspections, the Food Safety Teams carried out raids at various establishments in Kapurthala, Bathinda, Nabha , Moga and Sangrur.Mr. K.S Pannu, Commissioner, Tandrust Punjab Mission informed that  a joint checking drive with under Deputy Director Dairy Board and the food Safety team started early in the morning at 4:15 am.  The inspection of Pehlwan Dairy (Dairy processing unit) at Phagwara unearthed nearly 3 Quintals of Desi Ghee and 1 Quintal of Paneer, seemingly of poor quality. The stock was seized, samples were taken for analysis and the owner was directed to improve hygienic conditions.Similarly, food safety team along with representatives of Progressive Dairy Farmers Association raided Uttam Dairy, Circular Road Nabha at 3.45 am. 18 quintals milk, 125 kg paneer and 35 kg cream were stocked. 2 samples of milk, 2 of cream and 1 sample of paneer was taken. Hardam Milk Collection Centre, Thoohi Road, Near Bus Stand, Nabha was also inspected.At about 9.00 am Food Safety team along with Deputy Director Dairy Development ,Sangrur conducted a raid on R.R.Milk Centre ,Dirba .2 samples were collected of paneer from 900kg,1 sample of ghee from 2350 kg,1 sample of dahi from 1000 kg which was well packed and labelled in plastic containers of 5kg each,1 sample of lassi from 600 ltrs,2 samples of milk from 6000 ltrs in a tanker with bitter taste and acidic smell were taken.The milk was drained with the undertaking of owner and in the presence of DSP Dirba.In Fatehgarh Sahib, a joint raid of SDM Khamano, Dairy Department , PDFA and Food safety department was conducted at village Ucha Jatana, at a Paneer manufacturing unit. 550 kg Paneer, 80 kg sub standard cream were destroyed . Samples of paneer, cream and milk were taken. Court case to be launched for unhygienic conditions as well.At Moga, Food safety team intercepted a vehicle of Moga owner who was  going to supply sweets at Talwandi .Samples  were taken and 20kg Rasgullas in tins with foul smell were destroyed.During Raid at sweet manufacturer cum supplier in Bathinda,  6 samples of khoya, burfi, skimmed milk powder, milk cake, patisa and ladoo were taken. Nearly, 835 kg burfi, 275 kg smp, 120 kg milk cake, 600 kg patisa, 230 ladoo coloured were seized.
