Vigilance Bureau Punjab today nabbed Superintendent of MC Jalandhar posted as Registrar of birth and death office and his agent red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/-.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Nirmal Singh, Superintendent and his agent (a private person) Thomas Masih were caught on the complaint of Nirmal Singh of village Katana in Jalandhar district.The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said accused were demanding Rs. 5,000 to correct the name and date in his birth certificate. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused superintendent and his agent were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.He informed that cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigations were under progress
