Aripanthan village of Beerwah observes complete shutdown

A complete shutdown was observed in Aripanthan village of Beerwah sub-division of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday to mourn the deaths of four youth killed in forces firing on same in 2016.In 2016, same day four civilians, identified as Muhammad Ashraf Wani, a businessman; Manzoor Ahmad Lone, a farmer; Javid Ahmad Najar, a carpenter, and Javid Ahmad Sheikh, a hairdresser were killed by government forces on August 16, when a mass uprising was going on in Kashmir following the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.Reports said that all shops and business establishments are closed in the area while public transport is off the roads.Sources said that people from Aripanthan and its adjoining areas are visiting the homes of the slain civilians to offer condolences.
