District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz today inaugurated dialysis unit, treatment centres for Haemophilia and non communicable diseases at District Hospital Rajouri.Present on the occasion were CPO A H Choudhary, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, MD DH Rajouri Mehmood Bajjar, Dy GM JKPCC Shafqat Mir . The dialysis unit, equipped with 4 dialysis machine along with Reverse Osmosis (RO) water plant infrastructure, dialyzer and consumables, will provide free of cost treatment to patients.Operationalisation of dialysis unit has come as a big relief to persons suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease as single dialysis costs between Rs 2500 and Rs 4000 in private sector. Patients require anywhere between four dialysis a month to over 10, on an average.The Non-Communicable Disease Clinic has been specifically designated for treatment of patients suffering from diabetes, stroke, hypertension and cancer whereas persons suffering from uncontrollable bleeding will be treated in Haemophilia Centre.The new facilities apart from taking care of patients shall also save them undertaking journey towards winter capital for treatment.
