The State Government was committed for the welfare and development of the minority section of the society so that they could get equal opportunities for development. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the gathering at Chamba after launching the “Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana” for ensuring welfare of the minority section of the society. Chief Minister said that under this Scheme marriage grant of Rs. 25000 would be provided to the girls belonging to poor Muslim families, Rs. 5000 financial assistance would be provided for medical treatment to poor Muslim family and social security pension of Rs. 400 per month would be provided to old, widows and physically challenged Muslim persons being given through Waqf board.Jai Ram Thakur said that the minority section of the State has played an important role in the development of the State. He said that in first Cabinet meeting of the State Government, decision was made to reduce the age limit for getting old age pension from the existing 80 years to 70 years. He said that this decision of the State Government has benefitted about 1.30 lakh old people of the State. He said that this decision of the State Government was a token of respect to the old people of the State. 

Chief Minister said that the State Government would also provide adequate space for burial ground (Kabristan) of the Muslims communities and all the Deputy Commissioners would be asked to identify adequate land. He said that Gujjar Bhawan would be constructed in Chamba as soon as suitable land was identified.Jai Ram Thakur also provided assistance under the various schemes on the occasion.Chairman State Wakf Board Rajbali welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He thanked the Chief Minister for providing financial assistance for the marriage of the girls belonging to poor muslim families. He urged the Chief Minister to construct Gujjar Bhawan at Chamba. He said that the Wakf Board would provide Rs 5000 for treatment of poor.CEO Wakf Board Asif Jalal presented vote of thanks.   Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kisan Kapoor, MLA Chamba Pawan Nayyar, MLA Bharmour Jia Lal, MLA Bhatiyat Vikram Jaryal, MLA Nurpur Rakesh Pathania, MLA Baijnath Mulkh Raj Premi, BJP District President D.S Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena, SP Dr. Monika were present on the occasion among others.
