District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today handed over certificates to candidates who had successfully qualified the courses under Skill Development Initiative by Ministry of Tribal Affairs.The certificate distribution ceremony was organised by District Tribal Officer Rajouri Aamir Choudhary in DC Office Complex. 90 successful trainees from twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch have been provided the certificates.Pertinently the trainees had undergone 3 months training programme wherein they were imparted training in trades like electrician, Business Process Outsourcing, Plumbing etc by Kautilya Education Society at Mohali. The whole programme was fully funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs involving an expenditure of Rs 1 Crore.After distributing certificates among successful trainees, the DDC congratulated and urged them to channelize their skills to acquire employment. He also exhorted upon them to avail benefits entailed under various self employment schemes of JKEDI and ST/SC Development Corporations besides avenues under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme.Earlier the District Tribal Officer while informing about the training said the programme aims to upgrade the skills of unemployed youth to make them employable. He also informed that the skilled youth will be helped to establish their self employment units by credit linkage under various self employment schemes of central and state government.
