The Rayat-Bahra International School organised a dental check-up camp on its premises here today with a view to ensuring dental health and oral hygiene of the students.Dr AK Bansal in association with Colgate Palmolive India under the “Bright Smile Bright Future” initiative conducted the checkup. All the students of RBIS underwent dental checkup and were given a toothbrush and toothpaste made available by Colgate Palmolive India.Campus Director Dr Piush Verma along with School Principal Simrit Khatra and Vice-Principal Rajni Sharma inaugurated the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Piush Verma said that there is an urgent need to improve the student’s health capacity for addressing dental health and other health programmes. He said that oral hygiene was something which children, and sometimes even adults, do not pay much attention to. To address these kinds of small yet essential points, Patiala Campus organizes free health check-up camps regularly to help the students be aware of their health status.

Dr AK Bansal, Dental Surgeon, advised the students to go in for regular dental check-up. He also gave them valuable tips regarding oral care. Students from class I to VI were given a short talk on the importance of brushing the teeth twice a day and they were also taught the proper technique of brushing and oral hygiene. The visiting expert doctor was honoured by Campus Director Dr Piush Verma.Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra said that the Rayat-Bahra Group was committed to offering medical diagnosis of the problems related to teeth and other health issues of the students. Bahra said dental health care was an important issue these days with school going children, which should be addressed, so that at a later stage they should develop good habits of taking good care of their teeth. He lauded the efforts of Patiala Campus for organizing the such health and dental check-up camps.
