DC Bandipora reviews I-Day arrangements

Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today convened a meeting of all concerned officers to review the preparations with regard to smooth conduct of Independence Day.The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Hamida Akhter, Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Majeed, besides senior officers of civil administration, police and security forces.The meeting discussed threadbare issues relating to security and barricading, traffic regulations, sanitation, installation of public Address System, coverage of the event, illumination besides, availability of drinking water, power supply, Medicare facility, prize distribution and refreshment to ensure hassle free and smooth celebration of Independence Day.It was given out that the main function will be held at district headquarter where Chief Guest will unfurl national flag in the morning and took salute on the march past being presented by the contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, N C C and school children.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed Officers to ensure all arrangements beforehand as per past practice and work in utmost coordination.

The meeting was also informed that the Independence Day celebration will be organized at Sumbal and Gurez sub divisions also.Meanwhile, arrangements for celebration of annual urs of Nanga Baji were also reviewed during a joint meeting of concerned officers and the representatives of organizing committee here.The Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion, directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate facilities like drinking water, power supply, healthcare security and sanitation arrangements besides availability of essential commodities for convenience of devotees visiting the shrine from various parts of the Kashmir valley and Chenab Valley. He directed for making special arrangements of transport from Bandipora town to Malangam so that people do not face any inconvenience.The Deputy Commissioner directed CMO to keep one ambulance equipped with emergency medicines and staff available at the venue. He also stressed for keeping water tanker and fire tender available at the venue.
