These Schools To Have Unique Color Coding, Landscaping, Solar Panels, English Medium And Other Facilities

In a step aimed at giving a complete facelift to 19 government schools in the Jalandhar district, the Punjab government has allotted Rs 1.45 crore for converting these schools into ‘Smart Schools’ by introducing ultra modern facilities for the students along with quality education in them.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the step was aimed at streamlining the education system by delivering quality education. He said that in these ‘Smart Schools’ Education would be imparted to the students in a practical manner along with creative activities. Mr. Sharma said that it was an important project of the Punjab government led by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, which aims at upgrading the education paraphernalia of the state by delivering quality education to the students.The Deputy Commissioner said that this initiative would help in enabling the students of the government schools to compete with the private schools. 

He said that the students emerging out from these smart schools would be able to clear any competitive exam in this cut throat competition era. Mr. Sharma said that the 19 schools that would be converted into ‘Smart Schools’ include Government Senior Secondary School Bhogpur, Lamma Pind, Ladhewali, Mithapur, Co-Education School Ladowali road, Nakodar, Phillaur, Bhargo Camp, Maqsudan, Khurdpur, Naugaja, Samrai, Virk, Alampur Bakka, Manak, Mallian Kalan, Bilga, Bajwa Kalan and Nangal Ambia. The Deputy Commissioner further said that under this project Rs 69.50 lakh would be spent on the repair and maintenance of the classrooms in these 19 schools. Likewise, he said that Rs 5.20 lakh would be spend on repair of Toilets, Rs 5.90 lakh on construction of boys toilet in five schools, Rs 7.60 lakh would be spent on landscaping in 19 schools and Rs 57 lakh on unique Color coding. Besides this Mr. Sharma said that the schools would also have solar panels and English as medium of studies. He said that Punjab government has already issued grants for this work and the schools Principals have been issued guidelines to start the work on this ambitious project.
