Technical Education Minister Punjab Charanjeet Singh Channi today said that the state government led by Captain Amarinder Singh would not spare any person involved in drug trade as their hands were drenched with blood of innocent youth killed due to this menace.Interacting with the students during Sarkar se samwad program of Zee News here today at the local KMV college, the Minister said that the state government was committed for punishing the culprits involved in the heinous crime of drug supply. He said that no fish whether big or small would be spared by the state government and stringent action would be taken against them. Mr Channi said that ‘Chitta’ introduced by the rulers during the previous Akali-BJP had ruined the young generation in the state.Lashing out at Akalis, the Minister said that during their long misrule the Badals accumulated huge wealth through corrupt means. He said that the state government was committed to ensure that Akalis pay for their misdeeds towards the state and its people. Mr Channi said that the action would be initiated as per the law of land.The Minister further said that the state government was committed for wiping out this menace from the state. He said that the state government has already constituted a Special Task Force to ensure that this curse was completely wiped out from the state. Mr Channi said that every effort was being made by the state government to ensure that Punjab was able to overcome this problem thereby saving the precious life of our younger generations.

Listing the main achievements of the Captain government in last 15 months, the Minister said that the biggest achievement of state government was that it has ensured holistic development of the state besides giving a major fillip to well being of all sections of society.  He said that discharging its duty efficaciously the state government has abolished the VIP culture in the state and ensured women empowerment by introducing 50% reservation for ladies in PRIs and Urban Local Bodies. Mr Channi said that despite of the fact that Akalis have left a whopping Rs 2 lakh crore debt on the state then also Punjab government has extended a helping hand to hard working and resilient farmers of the state by ensuring debt relief waiver to them.Likewise , the Minister said that every golden grain of the farmers was lifted smooth and in a hassle free manner by the state government. He said besides snapping the pipeline of drugs in state, the Captain government has nabbed or killed the dreaded gangsters who were posing a major threat to law and order situation in the state. Mr Channi also said that in order to give further boost to education in state, the Punjab government would soon set up Sports, Technical and Horticulture University in the state.The Minister further said that under visionary and dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh the state government was making strenuous efforts to improve condition of farmers. He said that the state government was in process of evolving a long term strategy for bailing out the farmers from current crisis. Mr Channi said that the teams constituted by the state government were already working in this direction.Expressing concern over the brain drain in the state, the Minister said that last year 68000 students from state had moved abroad by spending huge amount of money. He said that this was an unfortunate trend which must be checked as agents were minting 30-50% of the total fee charged by universities abroad from the students. Mr Channi said that the state government was working on a policy to check this system by facilitating the students to go abroad.On the occasion Principal of KMV college Dr Atima Sharma welcomed the Minister to the college.
