The director of Mission Tandarust Punjab Kahan Singh Pannu today visited Guru Gobind Singh Refinery. During his visit Mr Pannu planted saplings in the refinery premises and village Phulokhari makring the onste of plantation drive of PPCB.Following the efforts of PPCB, the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery is coming up with a sewerage treatment plant of capacity 250 Kilo Liters Per Day at village Phulokhari. Mr Pannu laid foundation stone of the sewerage treatment plant project that is coming up at cost of rs 60 cr and will take 6 months to be completed. The plant in based on technology developed by IIT Mumbai and uses biodegradable agents to treat the sewage water. This plant is being stated as a pilot project. If the results are good enough, the technology will be replicated in other villages of state to make them greener and cleaner.He added that under Mission Tandarust Punjab the PPCB this monsoon is planting 1 lac saplings in districts of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda and Mansa. All the saplings will be planted in collaboration with various industrial houses. The aim of Mission TP is to provide greener cover and healthier state to people of Punjab. Various departments have been entrusted different works and the same is being monitored at higher level.Guru Gobind Singh Refinery head Mr AS Vasu.
