The Technical Education and Employment Generation Minister Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi today visited Government College Mohali to review the preparations of the first of its kind International Job Fair which is being organised by the Punjab Government on July 30. Presiding over a special meeting at the venue the Minister inquired about all the arrangements being done by the various concerned departments and the officers of the District Civil and Police Administration.Disclosing about the key factors about the International Job Fair, Mr. Channi said that the job fair would be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Capt. Amarinder Singh and he would also hand over appoint appointment letters to some off the selected candidates. He said that representatives of UK, Ireland, Dubai, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and some other countries would be participating in the event to provide jobs to Punjabi Youth. He said that employers from abroad would conduct interview for jobs in Nursing, Hospitality, Plumbing, Welding, Administration, Housekeeping, Beauty & Wellness etc and some related sectors.
Mr. Channi said that about 20,000 youth is expected to participate in the International Job Fair. He said that the eligible youth would have to undergo two rounds of interview; those who clear first round of interview would be eligible to sit in the second round. It’s mandatory for the job aspirants to fulfil the basic minimum qualifications to appear for interview.Special help desks would be set up to assist the job seekers for interviews and government officials would be deployed to help them. It is worth mentioning that this International Job Fair is being organized in collaboration with Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council.The interested candidates could register by loggin on to www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.com for appearing in the interview at the International Job Fair.
