Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met representatives of various Himachali social and cultural organizations based in Delhi and NCR at Himachal Sadan in New Delhi today. These include Himachal Mitra Mandal, Una Hitkarini Sabha, District Mandi Jan Kalyan Sabha and Himachali Bandhu Sabha.The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of these organizations for uniting people from Himachal Pradesh under one aegis as well as preserving and promoting Himachali culture in the national capital region. He also took keen interest in their activities and asked them to work for strengthening the culture and traditions of the state besides helping the needy persons through philanthropic activities on behalf of their social organizations.The representatives apprised the Chief Minister about their activities and also discussed about various issues pertaining to Himachalis residing in Delhi.Deputy Resident Commissioner Vivek Mahajan apprised the Chief Minister about activities being undertaken by the State government for promoting cultural activities through these organizations.
