The patients treated with various types of cancer treatment at Soana's Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Hospital shared their experiences during a program "Hope Fight Cure for Cancer Survivor Patients".  Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Gurpreet Kaur Sapra inaugurated the Programme by lighting the lamps. Speaking on the occasion, she said that courage of patient was necessary for the treatment of cancer. She said that such programs are very positive for other patients suffering from cancer. It is worth mentioning that a separate department of cancer has been made in Sohana's hospital being headed by Dr. Sandeep Kukkar  (Oncologist) .Guest of honour, Dr. Rita Bharadwaj, Civil Surgeon, Mohali, lauded the efforts of Sohana Hospital While speaking on the occasion; Dr. Bhardwaj said that when people fighting with such a disease like cancer tell their stories, it also encourages other patients to fight with cancer. She said that cancer is spreading in the entire country and current lifestyle of people is responsible for the growth of this disease. She said that cancer can be prevented by changing our life style.

Trustee secretary of the hospital, Gurmeet Singh, while speaking on the occasion, said that the belief in God is the biggest treatment along with medical care. He also said that all the efforts are made by Sohana Hospital for the treatment of the needy. He said that now a complete department has been set up for the treatment of cancer and specialists are available round the clock.The Cancer survivore present on the occasion included Gora Singh, Mrs. Achala Bhatia, Ram Kumar, Amarjit Singh, Manjit Kaur etc. They also interacted with the patients and the audience about their experiences during their treatment.  Gora Singh was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which is now completely healed. Manjeet Kaur has been diagnosed with breast cancer while Ram Kumar was suffering from cancer of multiple myeloma and treatment has been done. During the program, the cancer patients walked on the ramp, they sang songs and performed group dance on stage along with doctors and staff. Apart from this, the nursing staff of the hospital also presented a play regarding myths of cancer and its treatment. Among others, Trusty of the hospital Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Medical Director, Dr. Gurmeet Singh Mangat, CEO Dr. Gagandeep Singh Sachdeva, Chief Administrator A.K. Suri, doctors and staff of the hospital were present on the occasion.
