A delegation of Bilaspur Nagar Bhakra Dam oustees led by MLA Subhash Thakur called on Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to apprise him about various problems regarding Bhakra Dam oustees. The delegation apprised the Chief Minister that they had provided their prime land for construction of Bhakra Dam which was termed as temple of Modern India but unfortunately the people who gave away their lands were still facing hardships due to non availability of proper land for their rehabilitation. They said that only 900 to 1800 square feet plots were awarded to the oustees which were inadequate for their proper rehabilitation. The delegation apprised the Chief Minister that due to this reason Bilaspur was the only town in the country where population was decreasing by 0.04 percent because of migration of people and non availability of land to the oustees. The delegation urged to frame new policy for rehabilitation of oustees as the old policy framed by the previous government which had not done  justice with them .The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the government would consider their genuine demands sympathetically
