The Punjab Government would provide jobs to about 8500 youth of the state during the first of its kind ‘International Job Fair’ in the country. The Punjab Technical Education & Employment Generation Minister Charanjit Singh Channi disclosed this after holding a joint review meeting of Employment Generation & Technical Education departments regarding the arrangements for this job Fair at his official residence here today.The Minister said that the Job Fair would be organized at Government College, Phase-6, Mohali on 30th July, 2018. He said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would inaugurate the event & hand over appointment letters to the selected students.The minister further said that earlier there was offer of about 5 thousand international jobs from various countries but now the number has gone upto 8500 and this number is likely to increase in the coming days. He said that representative from 6-7 countries would be participating in the job fair to provide jobs to the Youth of the state.The minister directed the officers of the technical education department to start publicity of the event to make job aspirants aware about this opportunity to work abroad without paying any fee to any of the agents.He also said that the online registration of job aspirants would start within few days on the Punjab Government portal. He appealed that the job seekers should carefully submit all their details on the portal to be eligible for the interview.
Disclosing about the details of the job offers from various sectors from different countries the Minister said that 60 Assistant Manager/Manager Restaurant store/ waiter & waitress for restaurant/ steward are required in Dubai, Qatar & Bahrain, 22 Auto Mechanic (Level-1)/ Painter/ Dentor are required in UAE, 441 Bakery helpers/ kitchen/ labour/ helpers/ dining hall waiter/ dishwasher are required in UAE, Qatar & Kuwait, 51 CCR operators cum QC/ electrical / mechanical/ workshop technicians/ Hvac technician are required in Kuwait, UAE & Qatar, 100 Cook (North & South both)/ Asian/ Arabic/ Chinese are required in Qatar, UAE, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, 31 Drivers-light/ heavy vehicles/bus are required in UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, 100 Carpenter- Furniture/ shuttering/ Grc/ Fixer are required in UAE & Qatar, 215 Housekeeping foreman/ cleaner/ housekeeping are required in Oman, UAE, Dubai and Kuwait, 7 Engineer- instrumentation/ mechanical / project (infrastructure), are required in Kuwait & Dubai, 10 Jr. Accountant/ Accountant/ Admin Manager/ IT Incharge/ Sales are required in Qatar, UAE, Oman and Kuwait, 70 Masons- block & plaster/ tile are required in UAE, 2000 Nurses are required in UAE, UK and Republic of Ireland, 70 Pipe- Fabricator/ fitter, plumber are required in UAE, 40 Steel Fixer are required in UAE, 31 Welder Tig,Mig,Arc)/6G/Gas cutter are required in Oman, UAE and Kuwait, 40 Concierge are required in UAE and Dubai apart from this 60 Sous Chef, 80 CDP, 80 Assistant CDP, 150 Cook (Italian, Continental, French), 60 Assistant cook, 200 Galley Utility, 200 Galley housekeeping, 200 Galley F and B Stewards, 50 Beauty Therapist, 30 Spa Therapist are required in International cruise liners. He also said that International Cruise Liners also require 50 Hairdressers, 25 Personal trainers, 10 Nail technicians, 20 Acupuncturist in the Spa Department and 10 Helmsman, 10 Bosun, 10 Able bodied seaman (AB), 20 Ordinary seaman, 20 Deck Utility, 20 Oiler/ Motorman, 20 Oiler, 20 Wiper, 20 Engine Utility, 10 Garbage handler, 10 General purpose hotel maintenance, 10 Pool Attendant and 10 Engine Fitter in the MTO Department.Among others present in the meeting included Secretary Technical Education Mr. D.K. Tewari, Employment Generation Mr. D.P.S. Kharbanda, Director Technical Education Mr. Praveen Thind, Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh University MPS Isher and officers of the Technical Education and Employment Generation department.
