Under the Punjab Building and Construction Works Welfare Board 929 workers has registered as construction labour beneficiaries during this fiscal year 2018-19, whereas under the scholarship scheme 661 and registration cards renewable 467 applications have been received in Moga district.While giving this information, Dilraj Singh IAS said that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of the construction workers and to provide registration services to the construction workers of Punjab Building and Construction Works Welfare Board in the service centers established by the government.Dilraj Singh said that so many benefits are being provided to the workers engaged in construction works, but they can get the benefit only if the construction is registered with the labour welfare board. Therefore, the Punjab Government has started this service to facilitate the registration of construction workers. He said that for this registration the age of labour should be between 18 to 60 years, he should have proof of three months experience. He said that they can access any nearest Sewa Kendra for registrations with their Aadhar Card and the Aadhar card of the members of the family. He urged the construction workers to get their registration done so that they could take advantage of these schemes.
