Exhorting the students to act as a catalyst for awakening the people against the curse of drugs, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh today said that it would help in making Jalandhar a drug free district.Interacting with the students of government schools, who have won prizes in district level poster making competition on drug menace, here at District Administrative Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the main aim of this awareness campaign was to target the students for making them aware regarding the scourge of drugs in their formative years. He said that the entire anti-drug campaign being run in the school lays thrust on ensuring that students take this message back at their homes and further convey it to their parents, pears and relatives to apprise them of harmful effects of drugs. Mr. Jasbir Singh said that the district administration was committed to make all out efforts to make sure that students do not fall prey to the curse of drugs.The Additional Deputy Commissioner also lauded the highly creative work done by the students during the poster making competition. He said that the students have aptly used their creative skills to highlight the drug problem besides disseminating the message to check it.On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon, District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal and others were also present.
