DDC Anantnag holds meeting with Nambardar’s, Chowkidars

District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today convened a meeting with the Nambardar’s and Chowkidars of the sub-division Kokernag to listen to issues faced by their respective areas.In the meeting held at Kokernag, the Nambardars and Chowkidars of put forth the demands related to drinking water supply, power supply, adequate staff and medicines in the government hospitals, construction, repairs and renovation of roads, up gradation of transformers and installation of new HT & LT conductor and construction of protection bunds at vulnerable spots of the rivers and the spots which were damaged due to recent floods in the district.The Nambardars of the villages of Larnoo, Gudidraman, Matigawran, Kharpora, Narsagar, Desu, Gadwail, LesuBrannard, Addigam, Adhall, Zalangam, Sofshalli, Lisser, Watnard, Draway, Waibamdoora, Hiller, Akingam, Bidder, Hagalgund, Sagam, Gowhan, Wandiwalgam etc. apprised the DDC regarding their demands and problems. Most of the demands were related to road connectivity, macdamization, construction of protection bunds on the spots which were damaged due to recent rains, fencing of government schools, establishment of PatwarHalqas, release of compensation under PMGSY roads, construction of foot bridges, laying of new water pipes, supply of drinking water to the left out habitations/Gujjarpatees, construction of community based toilets near Masjids, medical facilities at PHCs and Sub Centres, disbursement of rent of Health Centres of Pvt. buildings, ensuring of duty of the staff in schools and hospitals.The DDC directed the concerned departments for taking necessary steps in redressing the grievances of the public and also directed engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B & Rural Development Department for immediate repairs and renovations of the roads, construction of protection bunds at vulnerable spots under conversions mode and submitting projects for up-gradation of water supply schemes and better electric facility. The Exen Flood Control and Irrigation were directed for submitting the report of the damaged spots/khulls for restoration of the irrigation facilities.Among others, SDM, Kokernag, Exen R&B, PHE, Flood Control, CMO, Anantnag, Tehsildar Kokernag, BDOs of Kokernag Sagam and Larnoo and other officers were present in the meeting.
