Member of Legislative Assembly  (MLA) from Ludhiana Central, Surinder Kumar Dawar on Mondayasked the health department to intensify the checking of chemist shops for tightening the noose around erring drug distributors.Cautioning such drug distributors, MLA said that no one involved into drug menace would be spared and strong action will be taken against the erring to make Punjab a drug free state.Dawar who visited the drug de-addiction centre in the civil hospital asked the Civil Surgeon Dr. Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu to form special teams for this purpose. Talking to media persons, he solicited the support of the public to wipe out the curse of drugs from Punjab.MLA claimed there is a need for a social revolution which needs the participation of people from all walks of the society to completely control over drug menace.Meanwhile, MLA voluntarily underwent a dope test.  He also motivated the patients admitted in the centre to shun the drugs.On being informed by the staff of lab about mushrooming of private agents in the civil hospital, he said that he would call a joint meeting of health and police department to tackle them.
