Different health schemes are being run in Moga district the rural areas to provide better health facilities and ensure proper health of children and others.The Health Department has proved to be helpful in providing health care to pregnant women. For the pregnant women, free services are being provided by the Health Department at Government Hospitals under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY). This scheme is proving to be very beneficial for the needy women of the district.Giving this information Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dilraj Singh IAS stated that during the fiscal year 2018-19 from 1 April 2018 to 30 June, 2018 Rs. 3,36,500 have been disbursed to 489 women below poverty line under Janani Suraksha Yojana. He appealed people to opt for delivery in government hospitals only.
Giving detail information Civil Surgeon Moga Dr. Sushil Jain said that under Janani Shishu Suraksha program free institutional delivery is conducted and the patient undergoes cashless treatment. He said that under the Janani Suraksha Yojna free health facilities are being provided to women in government hospitals afterwards 42 days from the delivery of women since pregnancy. He said that under this scheme all the tests of pregnant women such as ultrasound, blood tests, weight, BP and urine tests are done in government hospitals free of cost. He said that this scheme promotes institutional delivery wherein every delivery in rural health centres are given Rs 700 incentive and in urban areas Rs 600 incentive is given for the institutional deliveries.
