DDC Bandipora distributes 7 fibre glass boats among SHGs

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today distributed seven boats made of fibre glass under blue revolution scheme among seven Self Help Groups (SHG) of Bandipora and Sonawari constituencies at a function held here today.The function was organised by the department of Fisheries with the aim to give a fillip to the fisheries sector in the district.On the occasion, it was informed that the boats cost Rs. 1 lakh each, of which the Self Help Group have to bear only 20% of the cost. The beneficiaries were selected through draw of lots held in presence of the committee constituted for the purpose, and the members of various Self Help Groups.The DDC on the occasion urged upon the beneficiaries to make the best use of these fibre glass boats. He asked the concerned District Officer to make the provision for arranging more such boats for other Self Help Groups.Assistant Director Fisheries Sajad Hussain was also present at the function.
