Impressed from massive response to the free training classes organized for the students of government schools to prepare them for competitive exams in last year under 'Paryas' initiative, the district administration has decided to continue to hold such classes this year too so that government schools’ students can take and clear the competitive tests.Deputy Commissioner  (DC) Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that it is traditionally observed that in most competitive examinations, only students of private schools take part and managed to clear the tests easily. He said that government schools’ students do not take exams due to lack of adequate training and guidance. Agrawal told that this initiative is another attempt to fill this gap between students of government and private schools so that students of government schools can also come forward and pass such tests. He said that an entrance exam will be held on July 9 in all government schools for the admission in these classes in which students of 11th class can take part and result will be declared on July 11.DC revealed that there will be 50 multiple choice questions on the basis of 10th class’s syllabus.Executive Magistrate Swati Tiwana said that last year, the training for 160 students from government schools started at Edusquare coaching institute and 40 students were given training at Government Senior Secondary School, Samrala (Girls). She said that the administration has been trying to provide training to the students at the sub-divisional levels for which private institutes are showing interest to join the hands. The students belong to medical and non-medical streams will be given free training on weekends and public holidays. Students would be provided training in all subjects for five to six hours.
