The Central Government has sanctioned developmental projects worth Rs 4365 crore for the State which would not only ensure welfare of the people of the State, but also strengthen the economy of the State. This was stated by Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a public meeting at Banjar in Kullu district today. Jai Ram Thakur said that the State today has benevolence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and BJP National President  Amit Shah. He said that the previous Government failed to get projects sanctioned from the Centre. He said that the present Central and State Government was working with close coordination for welfare and development of the State. He said that all the four Members of Parliament were also committed for the development of the StateChief Minister said that this was his maiden visit to the Banjar Assembly constituency after heading the State Government. He said that Kullu has immense tourism potential, but Banjar was virgin and still its potential has not been fully harnessed. He said that the people of Banjar has this time elected a young and honest leader in form of Shri Surinder Shourie and the area was bound to scale new heights in every field of development.

Chief Minister said that during the last about six months the present State Government was working with complete dedication for the welfare of the people. He said that the previous State Government did nothing except day dreaming, but the present State Government believes in making the dreams turning into reality. He said that the previous Government even failed to prepare DPR of 69 projects sanctioned by the Union Government for the State. He said that tender process of 53 DPR has been initiated by the present Government.Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that today 21 States of the country were headed by the BJP and its alliance partners. He said that the credit of this goes to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and BJP President Shri Amit Shah.Chief Minister announced that helipad would be constructed in Banjar so as to ensure connectivity in case of emergency. He said that this would also facilitate high end tourists. He also announced Rs 30 lakh for sericulture project, announced upgradation of Primary School Shakti to Middle School and Middle School Panihar to High School. He also announced that Banjar bye-pass would be constructed provided the land was made available for the same. He announced opening of fire sub-station at Banjar. He announced upgradation of Police Post to Police Station and HRTC Sub Depot at Banjar.Earlier, he performed ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of Jibhi-Tandi road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.45 crore. He also laid foundation stone of new building of Block Development Officer, Banjar to be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore. This would not only house BDO office but its top floor would also have multipurpose hall.

Later, he laid foundation stone of Nature Learning Centre of Greater Himalayan National Park at Shairopa to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.60 crore and of 50 bedded AYUSH and Sowa Rigpa Hospital at Bajaura to be constructed at a cost of  about Rs 14 crore.Chief Minister was also honoured by several social, cultural and political organizations on the occasion. People accorded rousing welcome to the Chief Minister enroute Gadagusaini to Banjar.Forest and Transport Minister Shri Govind Thakur said that during about last six months, the State Government has initiated several schemes for welfare of every section of the society and development of every area of the State. He said that the State Government was providing Rs 3500 kit as Gas cylinder and stove under the 'Himachal Grahini Suvidha Yojana'. Member of Parliament Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the Banjar Assembly constituency was today forging ahead on path of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur and MLA Shri Surinder Shourie. He said that the Union Government was committed to double income of the farmers by 2022. For this stress was being laid on providing irrigation facilities to maximum farm lands in the State, he added. He said that 3.80 crore gas connections have been provided under the Ujjawala Yojana for empowerment of women.MLA Banjar Shri Surender Shourie while welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries to his home constituency said that the people of Banjar have great expectations from the Chief Minister. He also thanked the Chief Minister for laying foundation stone of various developmental schemes for the area. He said that Banjar has immense tourism potential which needs to the harnessed fully. He also urged the CM for Sub Judge Court at Banjar. He also detailed other developmental demands of the area.MLA Balh Shri Inder Singh Gandhi, Chairperson Zila Parishad Smt Rohini Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Kullu Shri Yunus Khan, SP Kullu Smt. Shalini Agnihotri were present on the occasion among others.
