Militants killed in Tral firefight laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans

Thousands of people on Wednesday participated in the funeral of two slain militants in Pinglish and Midoora villages of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.Two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants – Adil of Midoora Tral (Active from last two days), Danish of Pinglish Tral (Active from last 23 days) – were killed along with a foreigner, identified by the police as Abu Qasim, in a 6-hour-long gunfight in Hayena area of Nazneenpora, Tral yesterday.Forces had blasted the house in which the militants were hiding.Four soldiers and a CRPF trooper were injured in the gunfight.Eye witnesses said that a large number of people participated in funeral prayers of the two slain militants at both the villages. Later the duo were laid to rest at their respective native places.A spontaneous shutdown was observed in Tral area to mourn the killings.Meanwhile, the Pakistani militant Abu Qasim was buried today late in the evening at Gantmullah in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district– where foreign militants are laid to rest in the Valley.A police officer confirmed that the foreign militant was buried in Gantmullah.  (GNS)
