A group of Kashmiri Pandits who emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar on Wednesday expressed desire to return to their homeland and asked both Government of India and Governor Administration to facilitate their return and rehabilitation. They said some Pandits are defaming the whole Pandit community who spew venom on some Indian news channels. “We are feeling safe and secure in Kashmir. Those Pandits who indulge in negative propaganda against Kashmir and Muslims living here are not our representatives. A TV reporter Aditya Raj Koul is doing business while another Pandit Sushil Pandit who is playing victim card had migrated from Kashmir way back in 1972. We appeal to our Kashmiri Muslim brothers not to relate us with those Pandits who reap benefits by defaming Kashmiri people,” Satish Maldhar told news agency CNS.“We used to live in Rainawari. Our families are eager to return to Kashmir. We want to live together with Muslims and not in separate colonies. The idea of separate townships for Pandits is a farce and it is aimed at to create disharmony and disturbance in Kashmir society,” Maldhar, Praveen Raina and Kamal Chowdhary said in one voice. They appealed authorities to rehabilitate them without any delay. “We left Valley in a hurry not knowing it was all politics and conspiracy. We feel safe here. We were overwhelmed by the affection and love that we got from Kashmiri Muslim brothers at Tulmulla Ganderbal and other places. (CNS)
