Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai today reviewed the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra(SANJY) 2018.Senior superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohan Lal, ADC Gurvinder Jeet Singh, SDMs, CMO, Tehsildars, XEns of PHE, PWD and district officers of various departments and representatives of Langer committees, religious organisations, civil society members and NGOs attended the meeting.Threadbare discussion was held on security and other arrangements made for upcoming yatra.The DC directed the concerned officers to install the signboards bearing important contact numbers along the national highway and take steps for hassle free movement of traffic.He directed the Tehsil monitoring committees to conduct frequent visit alongwith checking teams at Langer sites for ensuring sanitation, hygienic food and proper fire safety arrangements.The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements for the comfortable stay of yatris, healthcare, availability of ambulances, uninterrupted water and power supply, sanitation and road maintenance for smooth movement of vehicles during yatra season.
The concerned police officers were instructed to act promptly to avoid any traffic jam in the area which may discomfort the pilgrims.The SSP Ramban said that all security arrangements have been made upto the mark and appraised about the arrangements for the regulation of traffic during the Yatra period.SRTC department was directed to arrange two spare bus and recovery vans with requisite machinery at identified locations and QRT was asked to keep ready to meet any emergency.The DC directed Xen PWD to maintain all designated accommodation sites for yatra and erect temporary toilets at langer sites.The PDD and PHE Engineers were directed to arrange un-interrupted power and water supply at all identified locations. He directed all the essential departments to maintain close coordination with Yatra control room for providing timely help and services to the Yatris.The meeting also discussed arrangements for Kheer Bhavani yatra and forth coming Eid and other festivals.
