Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting to take stock of the arrangements being made by concerned departments for the ensuing Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.The DDC discussed in detail the arrangements being put in place by the administration for smooth conduct of the religious festivals.He emphasized upon the Municipal Authorities to ensure cleanliness and fumigation at the Mosques/Eidgahs where large congregations are expected to take place on both the auspicious days. Besides, Executive Engineer PHE and PDD were impressed upon to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festive days.During the meeting, the Assistant Director FSC&CA said that the ration quota for the month of June is lifted and 85% has been distributed so far.The DC directed the AD FSC&CA to ensure that the distribution of additional one kg of sugar is completed within next two days.The market checking squads were directed to intensify market checking so that illegal profiteering and selling of low-quality food items is curbed.To tackle any medical emergency, DC impressed upon the Health Department to keep the ambulance along with doctors and medicines ready. He also directed the concerned to keep fire tenders available at the Mosques/Eidgahs where large congregations are expected.Among others, ACR Ganderbal and the officers of PDD, PHE, R&B, Health, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, FCS&CA, Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Municipal Authorities were also present in the meeting.
