The study of science and technology is very comprehensive and nearly 75 percent of learning of life is dependent upon it. Several researches had been taken place in various fields of science, but a lot of is yet to be done. Additional Chief Secretary (Science and Technology) Tarun Kapoor stated this today while presiding over the inaugural function of two days national level conclave on science and technology, in Kufri near Shimla. Delegates of 30 States of the country were participating in the conclave.Kapoor said that our country has done numerous big researches in the field of science and technology, yet the more efforts were required to take the knowledge unto the ground level. He said that specialist Scientists from all over the country have been invited in this seminar. The innovations they have implemented in their States could be shared with other. He said that Himachal Pradesh is doing better in the field of technology.While addressing the conclave, Member Secretary Science and Technology, Govt. of India Er. Ravinder Gaud said that science and technology council was introduced in 1974. Techniques like ' Rain Water Harvesting units, Arsenic Removal have been demonstrated North-Eastern States like: Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
In addition the department is now getting involved in the studies of diseases like genetic disorders in health.Gaud said that he is coordinating with various technical departments in order to exchange information in various fields including science, technology, three-dimensional artistry, artificial intelligence, bio concrete, brain computer, climate and agriculture etc. He said that science is playing an important role in many other industries.Earlier, Member Secretary HIMCOSTE Kunal Satyarthi welcomed the dignitaries on this occasion. He said that Himachal Pradesh is putting diverse efforts in the field science and technology. He said that technical information is being provided on important subject like 'Bio-Diversity' to Panchayati Raj Institutions and Educational Institutions. He said that objective of such big conference in Himachal Pradesh is to exchange the technical know how amongst States and adopt it also by other States.Principal Scientific Officer-cum-Coordinator Dr. S.S. Randhawa presented vote of thanks.Scientists from different States highlighted their achievements in the field of science & technology on this occasion.
