A large number of youth Thursday staged a protest against the handlers of ‘Himayat Scheme’ in Kashmir Valley. The youth alleged that managers of Himayat Scheme not only wasted their precious time but also deprived them of the stipend they were supposed to get under the scheme.A large number of unemployed youth assembled outside Comtech centre located Umarabad HMT area of Srinagar city. Comtech according to aspirants is a central sector scheme through PIA.“The managers of the scheme had promised us that they will provide us stipend after the completion of 9 months vocational training. But it has been a year now, neither we got any certificates nor any stipend. We are sure that the managers of this scheme in Kashmir have filled their coffers and used us as tool,” they alleged.When a couple of media personnel went inside the Comtech centre, they found no employees their. A lone employee present their who identified himself Ghulam Muhammad Parray not only refused to divulge the information but misbehaved with them. (CNS)
