Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri at New Delhi and requested him for financial assistance for improvement of facilities under AMRUT in Shimla.Shri Puri agreed in principle for up-gradation of sewerage treatment plants of Shimla city and installation of automatic bulk metering system for pin pointing leakage points and their subsequent plugging.He assured the Chief Minister that all projects would be commissioned and completed in a time bound manner. He said as Shimla was the prominent town and capital of Himachal Pradesh, the union government would give priority to resolve the problems of this town. He asked the state to send the detailed projects reports so that funds could be released at the earliest.
