DC Jammu visits firing affected villages

Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, today visited firing affected border villages and took stock of damages.Accompanied by CMO, SDM R.S Pura, a team of doctors of Animal Husbandry Department and officers of various departments, the DC visited villages in Arnia, Suchetgarh and R.S Pura to assess the damage to property and livestock. He also discussed and issued instructions to the local officers to make all possible arrangements to provide essential services to the people lodged in temporary camps established by the administration.Meanwhile, border residents presented various demands to which the DDC assured to take necessary steps.The DC appealed the people to maintain peace and amity and cooperate with the security agencies, civil administration which is taking adequate steps for ensuring their safety. He further directed Numberdars/Chowkidars to actively participate in relief and rescue measures at the times of evacuation.The DC also inspected 7 lodgement centres in tehsil Bishnah, RS Pura and expressed satisfaction over the boarding and lodging facilities kept available there.  He further directed to make available first aid kits in camps. Directions were also issued to appoint Nodal officer from Health, PHE and PDD to monitor overall functioning of camps.
