Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today celebrated World Honey Bee Day in Kashmir Region.The main function was organised at Government High School, Dab Ganderbal where Honey bottles were distributed among 300 School Children. Besides Essay and Art Competition was organised and the winners of these competitions were awarded by KVIC.On the Occasion Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Incharge Kashmir Region was present as Chief Guest. Also School Headmaster, Teachers and staff of KVIC was present.Shri Anil who is also Principal of training Centre PMTC of KVIC while addressing the children said that the Honey Bee Day is an awareness day started beekeepers in the United States to build community awareness of bee industry through education and promotion which has now become a worldwide observation especially in our Country. He said that the observance was started with a simple concept of bringing together beekeepers, bee association as well as other interested groups to connect with the communities to advance beekeeping.
Anil said that by working together and harnessing the efforts that so many already accomplish and using a united effort one day a year, the rewards and message is magnified many times over. We encourage bee associations, individuals and other groups to get involved.In the meantime, ShriParvaiz, Senior Beekeeper gave a detailed importance of Beekeeping.It is worth to mention here that KVIC started 'Sweet Kranti' from RashtrapatiBhavanlast year to Celebrates World Honey Bee Day.KVICstarted Honey Mission from the RastrapatiBhawan. Hon’ble President, Shri Ram NathKowindji, visited the apiary set up by the KVIC inside the RastrapatiBhawan. The visit of Hon’ble President in the apiary was aimed to celebrate the World Honeybee Day.Always on the lookout for innovative ideas to change the face of the nation , Prime Minister, ShriNarendraModi recently said that along with “ShwetKranti” there is also need to launched “Sweet Kranti”. The PM Vision is to make India a world leader in the production of honey and bee wax and the convince the farmers to increase crop production through pollination.
