One more militant has been killed in an ongoing operation at Brinjal forest area of Rajwar, Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, taking death toll of militants to four.An army official told GNS that one more militant was killed in the operation.As reported by the GNS already, three militants were claimed to have been killed by the army in Brinjal woods on Friday.During the searches conducted since today morning, all the four bodies of the militants have been recovered along with as many AK-rifles, the officer said, adding, "the searches in the woods is still going on trace out the other members of the group".The officer said that army has also recovered Magazine 14, grenade 7, Pithu bags, pouches, dry fruit, Pak made medicine and matrix sheets.Regarding the slain militants, he said that they apparently are foreigners and their identity would be established by police and other agencies."From the material carried by them, it seems the group belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit," the officer said.The encounter broke out after the soldiers of 15 RR intercepted a group of militants believed to be infiltrators at Brinjal forest adjacent to Shahnagar Jat Gali, the officer had said.“The group of militants opened fire upon the forces which were retaliated by the troops triggering off the gunfight," he had said.Meanwhile, sources told GNS that army handed over the bodies to local police and the former conducted all medico legal formalities. Later police handed over the bodies to locals of Reshwari a small hamlet in Rajwar area, for last rites.People offered funeral prayers and buried them in the local graveyard, the sources said.
