Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil Vikas Kundal who is also Chairman of the District Red Cross Committee Kargil today appealed people to contribute to their fullest to upgrade the Red Cross Society for welfare of the needy people.The Deputy Commissioner was addressing at a function organized by the Indian Red Cross Society District Branch Kargil on the International Red Cross Day at Auditorium Hall Kargil today.The Deputy Commissioner was the Chief Guest while as the Additional Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta was the Guest of Honor on the occasion.Highlighting the importance of World Red Cross Day, the Deputy Commissioner said that organizing of such programmes will help to educate people about the importance of the Red Cross Society. He urged upon the youngsters to volunteer for human welfare and develop in them the principles of universality, impartiality, love, care and sympathy.
Meanwhile, the Additional Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta and Additional Deputy Commissioner ImteeazKacho also spoke on the occasion and expressed their views on the World Red Cross Day.Headquarter Assistant to Deputy Commissioner Kargil Muhammad Shabir, Assistant Director Information Kargil Abdul Ahad Bhat, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, District Cultural Officer Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak other district officers besides students from different educational institutes and prominent citizens also participated in the programme.Students of Government Degree College Kargil presented a skit on volunteerism while as a question-answer session was also held and prizes were distributed among the winners.Coordinator, Red Cross Committee Kargil, Muhammad Hadi and Member Red Cross Ahmad Ali briefed about the aims and objectives of the Red Cross movement.Meanwhile, a donation of Rs 1065/- was contributed towards the Red Cross Fund by the participants on the occasion.
