Divisional Commissioner, Hemant Kumar Sharma today convened a meeting with members of civil society to discuss preparations for the upcoming 3 day cleanliness drive commencing  from May 21, 2018.The theme of the programme is “Clean Jammu, Clean Tawi”.Divisional Commissioner informed the members of civil society about the schedule of three day programme. He informed that opening ceremony will be held at Parade Ground with procession starting  from Parade Ground to Hari Singh Park. Nukkad Theatre, cultural programmes at different places and processions by the students, volunteers and others besides cleanliness drive will also be  organized on the same day, he further informed.It was given out during the meeting that similar activities shall be carried on the second and third day alongwith cleanliness of River Tawi by Volunteers at earmarked places and assembly in Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground Jammu besides taking feedback from stakeholders for programmes in future and felicitation of associations for meaningful contribution during the campaign on concluding day.While seeking cooperation of civil society members to make the event a grand success, Divisional Commissioner asked the members to generate awareness among people for maximum participation so as to make Jammu neat and clean. He said that focus of the whole drive should be on ensuring that people incorporate cleanliness into their value system.
