Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched Family Circuit for Thalassemia Patients in Himachal Pradesh by Art of Living, HP on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day here today.Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minster said that the State Government would ensure that the patients of Thalassemia do not face difficulty in arranging blood. He said the blood banks would be asked to provide blood to these patients on priority. He said that the Government would also consider strengthening the special OPD for Thalassemic patients in Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla to facilitate the patients.Chief Minister also launched the App ‘Jeevan Rakshak’ for Thalassemia patients. Through this app the patients would be able to get blood for the patients at the earliest.Philanthropist and Prof. Suneela Sharma, who herself has donated blood 32 times to these patients urged the Chief Minister to grant handicapped status to the thalassemic patients so that they could avail benefits of  different government  welfare schemes initiated by the State Government.
