Hizbul Mujhadeen commander Sadam Padar and Bilal Ahmed Mohand alias Molvi were laid to rest amid pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans at their ancestral graveyard in Heff Shermal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.Sadam Paddar who was very close to Hizb poster boy Burhan Wani was one among five militants killed in yesterday’s gun fight at Badigam Shopian. The killings sparked massive protests and clashes resulting in the death of five civilians.Eyewitnesses said that since Sunday evening, 15 back to back funeral prayers were offered for Sadam Paddar. Thousands of mourners thronged in his native village to express sympathies with the bereaved family.Witnesses added that people continued to throng Heff Shermal even after his burial whole day.Reports said that militants yet again appeared in Sadam’s South Kashmir village and offer gun salute to him.
Over a dozen armed militants according to reports appeared at the funeral of Hizb Commander Sadam Paddar for the second straight day at Heff Shermal and fired scored of rounds in honour of the slain commander.Thousands of mourners visited his native village Heff Shermal to have his last glimpse. With the mourners arrived over a dozen militants on Sunday evening and Monday morning who gave gun salute to their departed associate.Eyewitnesses said that militants emerged there and fired scores of bullet in air while people present their chanted pro-freedom slogans. Witnesses added that the mother of Sadam Paddar hugged these militants who handed over an assault rifle to her and accordingly she also fired a round in honour of her slain son.Sources said that top Hizbul Mujhadeen commanders including Riyaz Naikoo, Muhammad Naveed and Saifullah Khalid were among those militants present on the occasion.
