Transfer Policy of Punjab government employees announced

The Punjab Government has announced Transfer Policy for its Employees/public sector employees. Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Personnel Department said that the officers of Group 'A' and Group 'B' would be able to serve in a district for a maximum period of 15 years in full service. But this condition would not apply to the district cadre and the officers working in the head office of the department.He said that any group 'A' and 'B' officer would not be deployed for more than five years at one place. If any officer remains posted for more than three years continuously in one place then he/she would not be posted at the same station before the interval of at least two years. Apart from this, the transfer of Group 'A' and Group 'B' officials would not be made before 2 years, but in special administrative grounds or in case of serious personal problems of the officer, the transfer of officer can be made even before 2 years.  He said that such transfer of the officers of Group 'A' would be done only after the approval of the Personnel Department. Transfer of Group 'B' officers would be done by the competent authority of such departments with remarks. 

The spokesperson further informed that no group 'C' employee would be posted on a post more than ten years in full service time. If there is only one post in the district / department, where no other employee can be deployed then this ten year condition would not be applicable. No group 'C' employee would be deployed for more than five consecutive years on a post. If any employee remains posted for more than three years continuously on one seat then he/she would not be posted on same seat before the interval of at least two years.Instructions have also been issued regarding special cases. "Blinds, unmarried women, widows, couples (i.e. where both husband and wife are government employees), any employee whose child is not mentally fit or suffering from a serious illness and such employees who have less than two years of service, would be treated as special cases" he said. In such cases, department would take three options from the concerned employee and posted him/her to one of them. Apart from this, instructions have also been issued in details regarding mid-term transfers.
