The Executive Councillor for Health, Gyal P Wangyal today conducted his maiden visit to Khaltse Sub-Division.He was accompanied by Councillor Skyurbuchan Phunchok Stanzin, Councilor Temisgam Tsering Morup, Councilor Khaltse Lobzang Sharap.EC Wangyal also conducted a review to review the functioning, future plans and issues of various departments under his portfolio.During the meeting, EC Wangyal said that he already has requested Health Minister to bring the Primary Health Centers of Khaltse and Nyoma at with Sub District Hospital of Diskit.“The Heath Minister had assured of all possible help,” he said.While reviewing the activities of Youth Services & Sports Department, EC Wangyal stressed on equal importance of playing sports among school students along with academic education and said that the availability of sports equipments and sports teachers will depend on the number of enrolment in the students. Talking about the need of playgrounds in some schools, EC gave directions for preparation of DPR to the concerned agencies under Khelo India.Taking serious note of the misuse of Community Plantation programme of Forest Department, EC directed Forest Department for giving this benefit only to the communities and not to individuals and also gave directions to maintain revenue records while implementing the scheme.
With regards to non-availability of electricity facilities in the villages of Tar-Hipti and Singay-Lalok, PDD department apprised the meeting that it is sanctioned under Deen Dayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Yojna. They further said that at present there are 4 feeders in the Khaltsi Sub Division but only 2 are functional which results in numbers of faults. EC assured of taking it up with concerned agencies for early redressal.Manager DIC Lch Tsering Dolker apprised EC that a total of 10 industrial units have been allotted at Khaltse Industrial Estate out of which only 3 are functional. EC also discussed in detail about the infrastructure and functioning of ICDS centers in the Khaltse sub division.Later, EC inspected PHC Khaltse and interact with the doctors, paramedic staffs and patients and enquired about the health facilities being provided in the hospital. He then held a brief meeting with the all the staff and urged them to work with full dedication. He assured of all possible help regarding infrastructure.Block Medical Officer Jamila Bano apprised EC Wangyal about the issues and problems of PHC to which EC gave a patient hearing and assured to redress all issues in phase manner.
